On April 14, 2021, our Washington Middle School Academic Team competed at the Region IV MASSP Academic Olympics in Wolf Point, MT. We were represented by 2 teams consisting of Cassidy Rau, Wayne Zimdars, Nathan Marley, Brianna Barnick, Jacob Wade, MacKenzie Duede, Ryan Carney, Cole Thornton, Audrey Haase, and Haven Wade.
Our School competed against 6 other schools in 4 written tests and an oral round competition. Awards were given to Jacob Wade for 9th in Science and 5th in Math. Haven Wade earned 6th place in the written English test. The students were impressive with how they represented themselves and our school. They were respectful, responsible, and kind! GO DEMONS!!!

What was your favorite thing to do during the COVID shutdown?
My family & I painted rocks we had found and placed them throughout our yard when they were finished.
What is your favorite outside activity?
Our family loves to camp, fish and have water fights in the backyard during the summer months.
Why did you decide to work at WMS?
To conquer my fear of being a middle school teacher. And now, I love it!!
If you could be any cartoon character who would you choose and why?
Ariel-she is my favorite Disney princess. She is rebellious and adventurous. It would be cool to be able to swim with the ocean animals.
What is your favorite quote?

I would be Bell from beauty and the beast. I would be her because she is kind and happy being herself caring, and willing to trade places with her father. Also she gets to spend all day in that amazing library!

The journalism class has been working hard on our FIRST school newspaper!! I am so proud of them for the work they have done on it.
