Volleyball update: 7th and 8th grade volleyball players.....practice change for tomorrow (Thurs., Sept. 12). Practice will finish at 4:45. We will then walk over to the high school to watch the high school volleyball game. The varsity Lady Devils will be playing at 5:30 (this time has also changed). Parents can pick their child up at DCHS after the game. Team shirts will be handed out at practice. They need to be worn to the game. If you haven't already paid, please turn your money in at practice.

UPDATE: We will not be having an early out this Friday, September 13th. The decision has been made to move the homecoming parade to Friday, September 27th at 3:00 pm and that will be the homecoming football game as well. First day of school with all students at WMS! Off to a great start! WMS t-shirt orders are flying off the press. Don’t forget to get your order in! If you need an order form one can be picked up in the office. Cost is $15 and all profits go directly back to our students for BLITZ activities and other fun activities. 6th grade orientation today! We started off with a class assembly and then broke off into home rooms. Those home room groups went through 6 stations where staff explained MBI universals and expectations for different areas of our building. Up next Minute to Win it games in gym. School is just about upon us! With all of the construction still ongoing outside of the school on N Meade Ave we wanted parents and the community to be aware of what our plan is here at WMS before school and after. If you are dropping your student off or picking them up we are asking parent/guardians to use Dodge street on the N side of the building. This parking lot will be solely designated for parent/community parking (along with handicap) while the construction is still ongoing. Students will then walk around the building to the playground on the backside until the bell rings. Our staff will park on the playground on the far S end. This area will be coned off. THIS AREA IS NOT FOR COMMUNITY PARKING BETWEEN 7-4 pm or pick up/drop off. The community members who have been displaced by the construction are welcome to use the parking lot as we have allowed all summer as long as they are out by 7 am (our first students arrive around 7:15 am). Please stay SOUTH of the orange cones we have set out when you park and exit through the west exits. Buses will drop off on N River Ave in the morning and students will walk onto the playground from there. Buses will be picking up on the WMS playground so it is vital that students are not walking outside of the designated cone area for safety reasons on the playground. This includes students being picked up. Please do not park on N River Ave to pick up your child if at all possible (Use Dodge St). I have been told that they hope construction will be done on the N Meade in front of our school about 2 weeks from now. We ask for your patience during this time.
